Canon Pixma MX459 Drivers Download– The Canon PIXMA MX495 is a home-office printer has a surprisingly extensive set of features, including a full wireless connection for printing from and scanning to mobile devices, and fax connections, too.
Canon Pixma MX459 Design and Features
Canon has broken out of the old Japanese lacquer design, reducing the overall height of this unit. As a result, MX495 is a compact device with a flat top that still combines a 20-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). As is generally the day, the top cover of the fold to provide the paper feed tray for the ADF.
To the left of the top cover is a control panel consisting of membrane buttons. It may not be easy enough to use as a touch screen, but it is clear and easy to operate. Behind the array of buttons is a two-line with a 16-character Mono LCD display. While this can be quite limiting, it’s been intelligently used by Canon to display the number of copies and ink levels, as well as to scroll through status messages.
The front panel folds down to create a paper feed tray and a second panel inside the bottom folds and a telescope out to create the output tray. It’s a neat setting if you’re thorough enough to fold the tray when the printer is not in use.
Canon Pixma MX459 Print speed
Canon rates PIXMA MX495 at 8.8 ppm for monoprint and 4.4 ppm for color. Good speed is very fast, although Mono speeds are not very optimistic. We saw 6.7 ppm for our five-page Mono printed test, up to 7.5 ppm on a 20-page document.
For color documents, MX495 is slower. We measured a skinny 1.6 ppm for our five pages of mono text and color graphic tests. The copying time is good enough for this machine class, with 36 seconds for one colored page of flatbed and 58 seconds for a five-page Mono document via the ADF. Photos of 15 x 10cm in size take 1 minute 10 seconds of Android smartphone at standard quality and a length of 2 minutes 33 seconds from PC when printed on top of quality.
Canon Pixma MX459 Print quality and cost
Print quality is considered to be one of the best features of Canon printers, and here are sharp black and black text. We did see some fuzz around the brave news, however. The color graphics are clean and bright, with a good variety of tones, and although the color copy is slightly lighter than the original, it is closer than many others achieve.
Printed photos displayed a high level of detail, correct color, and lots of detail-even in shaded areas.
Two ink cartridges are available in standard and high-yield versions, and at the best price, we can find for high capacity units, page costs of 3.7 p for mono, and 8.1 p for color.
It is competitive for printers in this price range and compared to models like the HP Officejet 2620 which is a bit better for both pages.
Amazing for Canon, this is a very noisy machine: we measured the peak of 73dBA at 0.5 m during paper feeds. You don’t want to be on the phone when this printer is in use.
Canon Pixma MX459 Cartridge & Connection
Changing the cartridge is fiddly. You will need to fold the third panel that is behind the tray of two papers for the black cartridge slot and the Tri-coloured color horizontally into their holder, before pushing them to click into place.
As well as the rear panel USB socket, there are connectors for the third-party telephone line and handset, providing a path through for the use of single-line fax. Wireless connections are also supported, with a simple WPS connection and the ability to print through a downloadable Canon app, from Android and iOS devices.
The software bundle includes the Canon app for simple graphical manipulation and OCR.
