Canon PIXMA iP100 Driver Download

Canon PIXMA iP100 Driver Download– The Canon Pixma iP100 is an upgrade from last year’s iP90v. This time, Canon increased the number of ink nozzles and doubled the maximum resolution to 4,800×1,200 dpi colors. As a result, we’ve seen significant improvements in print speed and quality that make the portable iP100 compete even with some full-size printers. For $ 250, you won’t get some of the Hewlett-Packard mobile companion features like a multimedia card reader or optional Wi-Fi connectivity. Even so, we prefer this Canon because of its lower profile, fast print speed, upgraded cartridge set, and overall versatility.

We love the design continuity in the Pixma mobile line and the simple aesthetic it provides. The Pixma IP100 looks almost identical to its predecessor, the iP90v. The body has a matte silver finish with glossy black side panels and a paper handling tray that sticks out of the device. Fortunately, the input tray holds 50 sheets of paper, a 20-page jump from the iP90v. The right side of the printer houses an infrared port for connecting to an IrMC 1.1 compatible mobile phone, a USB 2.0 port, and a PictBridge port for direct printing from a compatible camera. For an additional $ 50, Canon will include the BU-30, a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a USB port, allowing you to print wirelessly from a laptop or mobile device. Unfortunately, iP100 doesn’t have the built-in card reader included in the HP H470; users are forced to print via USB or via the PictBridge port.

At 2.4 inches tall, 12.7 inches wide, and 7.2 inches deep, the iP100 is actually slightly larger and heavier than last year’s model, but still maintains a smaller profile than its direct competitor, the HP Officejet H470. From a portability point of view, the iP100 is easy to carry, but it would be great if Canon included a carrying case to protect the unit in transit.

While the iP100 maintains the same physical profile as its predecessor, the internal cartridge system has been completely revamped. The IP100 uses Canon’s latest ChromoLife color ink; each cartridge costs around $ 17 and reportedly yields 249 pages. Like the previous iP90v and iP90, economical users can extend the life cycle of their cartridges using the driver’s two built-in options: Save Black Ink or Use Composite mode.

The engineers at Canon managed to increase the print speed of the previous model by 1 page per minute in all three of our test formats. The IP100 prints text at an impressive 7.12 pages per minute, which not only stands head and shoulders above the HP H470 but also outpaces the print speeds of some of the full-size and single-function all-in-one photo printers available in stores retail now. On average, the iP100 prints photos at a speed of 1.09 pages per minute, which is acceptable but not spectacular. However, you can increase the print time for documents with lots of photos and graphics by manually changing the length of time the printer waits for the previous page to dry.

Looking at the image from a qualitative point of view, the iP100 print sample appears to be on par, if not slightly better than the iP90v. We detected almost no grain in portraits and landscapes – the prints themselves were very natural with an accurate and vivid color palette. Our text documents are free of jagged edges on generic 20-pound copier paper and high-quality glossy sheets. The current model also copes with a slight blue tinge on the grayscale portions of our test subjects which we reported with its predecessors. However, there are some negatives. Some of the photos we printed on Canon’s Photo Paper Plus Glossy II yielded a slightly cloudy hue that was obvious; the effect isn’t always disappointing, just a little cooler than what we’ve seen from other printers. We can also see a checkerboard transition in our color gradient. But overall, we are very pleased with the output quality of this device as a versatile printer designed for fast photos, documents, and presentation prints on the go.

The company offers several accessories that are sold separately, including the aforementioned Bluetooth key, a $ 90 car charger, and an external battery pack that will reportedly get you an additional 290 pages for $ 100.

Canon provides a standard one-year warranty with the iP100, with additional troubleshooting through toll-free telephone support.
